Referrals to Core Medical Physicians

How patients are referred to our specialists, and how PCPs and other medical offices can send a referral to Core Medical Physicians.

For Patients: Coming to See a Specialist

Some patients may need a referral or insurance authorization from their primary care provider (PCP) before they can be scheduled with one of our specialists.

  • Some insurance plans require a PCP referral or authorization before a patient can see a specialist.
  • Please check with your insurance plan to find out whether a referral is required.
  • If a referral is required, your PCP may need to send the referral/authorization to Core Medical Physicians before your specialty appointment can be scheduled.
  • Please make sure your PCP has referred you to the appropriate specialty and provider.
  • You can contact our office to confirm whether your referral has been received.

Please note: Having a referral does not necessarily guarantee insurance coverage. Please verify your benefits and referral requirements with your insurance company.
